STOCK SALES.
At Rcpongaere yesterday Messrs Williams and Kettle submitted a large quantity of Mr W. K, Chambers’ stock of sheep and cattlo. Forty-five mixed steers, 18 months to 2$ years, were passed at -S3 17s 6d, but were afterwards sold to Mr A, Hood at £4, who also secured 20 2-year steers at T 4 2s 6d. Forty-one heifers, shorthorn and polled Angus, IS months to 2 years, wero knocked down to Mr Wyllie at ;£3 ISs 6d. In sheep a line of 120 freezers were sold to Mr D. Cameron for 13s. Another SOO 4 and 6-tooths sold nt 12s to the same buyer ; 270 2-tooth a.- v », wethers were passed at 10s 9d; 385 lambs were sold at 4s 9d to Mr Peddle ; S 5 fat and forward, empty ewes realised 10s 3d. ciug bought by Mr Ewen Cameron ; 420 lull-mouth ewes sold at 7s ; 215 fat ewes reached 11s 2d, being bought by Mr Monckton, and 35 4 and 5-year-old cull *•- CW es sold to Mr Habgood at 5s 4d ; 800 4 and 5-year-old ewes were sold at 9s ; 1100 2-tooth wethers sold at 11s, Mr A. Mc--1 Kenzic taking 550 and Mr Julius Caesar the balance ; 700 2-tooth Lincoln owes found buyers at 12s lOd, Mr R. Scott takin" 500 and Mr Monckton the balance.
