The Takapuna Meeting.

[Special to Times.] Auckland, last night. The third day of tho Summer Meeting of the Takapuna Jockey Club takes place to-morrow. Thore is every indication of fine weather. Tho acceptances are very good, and there is plenty of material left to provide some capital racing. The following are my notes and anticipations : The opening event of the programme is the Marine Handicap, in which I take Liquidator to be the most dangerous, and he may meet with most opposition from Jessamine and Rita.

In “the Borough Handicap, Takapuna should win, with. St. Olga second, and Blairina third.

Miss Drury will prove a hard one to beat in the Second Hurdles. Tim and Hylas will prove troublesome opponents. The winner seems to be extremely well concealed in the Summer Handicap. The pair I like best are Rosella and Cavaliero, who may finish in that order. The Tafiapuna Handicap may go to Hastings, but Takapuna’s people are confident of victory. In the Third Pony Handicap I look to the Gisborne-owned pony Ivan to win, with Cuisine second, and Mamoa third. Straybird should have a good chance in the Handicap Steeplechase. Nor’-west and Voltiguer will prove most dangerous. A field of sixteen is listed for the Welter Handicap. St. Ona, Regalia 11., and Cannongate 1 like best, and I will look to them to finish in that order.
