Te Araroa Fatality.
A SAD ENDING,
On Tuesday afternoon, an inquest was held at Mr Biddles’ house, about five miles from Tc Araroa, concerning the death of the young woman Emma Biddles. The enquiry was conducted by Mr R. A. De Lautour, Mr C. W. Liddle being foreman of the jury, and Constable Smith representing the police. Evidence was given by Mr Biddles, Miss Biddles, and a Maori woman, who had found the young woman in an outhouse. The evidence gave .no clue whatever to any reason that the young lady might have for doing away with her life. No letters were left, .nor was there anything to show that her bright disposition had developed into melancholy. The verdict of tho'jury was “ that Emma Biddles died from the effects of carbolic acid taken during a fit of temporary insanity,” and a rider was added that no blame was attachable to anybody in connection with the matter.
