TCJEF CLUB’S MEETING.

It is believed that at tho forthcoming meeting of tho Turf Club, next week, there will be more outside horses than have hitherto competed in Gisborne. Mr H. Lannell has arrived from Wairoa, bringing with him the horses < Pistol Grip, Contrabine, Honors, Moonraker.. These horses are located at the Boyal Oak Hotel stables, Matawhero. Mr J. Malone has come in from Nuhaka with Corydon, and Victorious, The Weaver, Bed Bose, and Wilson have arrived from Napier. These horses are located at Messrs Currie and Hogans Makaraka stables. Messrs Currie and Hogan are in receipt of a telegram asking if they can provide accommodation for five more racehorses. The indications are that the meeting will bo the most successful race gathering ever held in the district.

[By Telegraph—Press Association.] ' Christchurch, last night. Most of tho horses engaged in the C.J.C. Summer Meeting were worked this morning, but only a few sound gallops were recorded. Terrapin ran a mile against the watch, but Paladin went the same distance, assisted by Strathnairn, and registered a much better performance. Hermosa did a strong six furlongs while Somerled, Glenaldale, Scottish Minstrel, Jibboom, Wind Whistle, Goldenmere, Tremor, Battler, Westguard, Cameo, Cadet, Cashion, Cora Linn, Huku, Dundee, Calibre, and Military were given useful ’ New Plymouth, last night. Following are the final payments for the Taranaki Cup Coronet, Tortulla, Battlcaxe, Matetoa, WiU-o'-the-Wisp, Region of Honor,
