Trade Matters.

Mr Thomasan, President of the Manchester Chamber of Commerce, in an address, stated that although the immediate prospects were less bright, the country’s trade was sound. The controversy of freetrade v. protection was still alive, and there was no telling, considering Great Britain’s costly wars, how soon the issue would be raised again in England.
