The final heat in the double sculls competition of the Poverty Bay Bowing Club, for the trophies presented by Mr F. Oatridge, produced a great race between J. Brown (stroke) and C. Taylor, lQsecs, and A. Russell (stroke) and R. Kellett, scr. From a good start the former got well away, and led to the footbridge, where they were oollared by Russell and Kellett, and the latter, coming on in fine style, won by something over half ft length.
