A man named James Burn has been arrested at Patoa on a charge of shooting at a clerk of the Bank of New South Wales who was carrying a money bag. WELLINGTON IMPROVING. The Agent-General cables that he sent a beautiful wreath to Windsor on Friday, the Now Zealanders now being instructed in gunnery, etc., marching in the funeral procession.

QUEEN’S STATUE.

The Governor has suggested that the movement to erect a statue of the Queen here should be of a national character. Therefore it lias been decided to send subscription lists to Mayors and Chairmen of County Councils throughout the colony. PREMIER’S RETURN.
