Independent Order of Rechabites.
At the meeting of the Gisborne Tent, No. 54, i.0.1t., S.U., held in the tent room on Wednesday evening, the officers for the ensuing term were installed, as follows: C.lv., Bro. M. Nasmith; D.R., Bro. J.Allen; secretary, Bro. W. H. Hamblett (re-elected); treasurer, Bro. W. Bireli (re-elected); auditor, Bro. A. Georgeson (re-elected); Levite, Bro. 11. Webb (re-elected). ■ Tho balance-sheet for the past quarter, which was very favorablo, was presented and adopted and a lot of routine business dealt with.
Tho committeo appointed to arrange prolinrnaries in connection with the holding of the district meeting in Gisborne reported as to what had beon done, and it was rosolved that tho officers of the Tent act as a committoo to entertain the delegates during their stay in the district. Bro. A. Georgeson, P.G.R., was elected to act as the delegate representing the looal Tent at tho meeting. Tho entertaining of the delegates by such a small Tent appears rather a big undertaking, but the manner in which preliminaries nro being arranged showed that the Tent intend to carry out its duty in a thorough manner. The district meeting takes place on Thursday and Friday, February 14 and 15.
