Alleged Murder at Auckland.

'ACCUSED COMMITTED FOB TRIAL. [BY TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Auckland, last night. At the Police Court, to-day, James Miller was arraigned on a charge of having murdered jhis son, Herbert Edward George Piper. Accused, who looked very ill, appeared with his throat bandaged, the result of injuries self-inflicted. The Crown Prosecutor, in outlining the facts, stated that on December 8 the accused cut the child’s throat and inflicted wounds on himself. He had admitted the offence to neighbors, and after being treated at the hospital was arrested on the charge of murder. After hearing the evidence, the Inspector committed prisoner for trial.
