South Australia, the former’s first innings closed for the large score of 918. Howard made 64, Poidevin 140, and Kelly 34. The innings lasted for 9J hours, and produced two world’s records, establishing tha highest score and five individual centuries in a first-class match. In South Australia’s second innings the visitors lost seven wickets for 144. Jarvis (49) and Hill (20) were tha prinoipal scores.
