TRANSLATION OF BIBLE
SCOTTISH CHURCH PLANS USE OF MODERN ENGLISH (10 a.m.) LONDON, May 27. The General Assembly of the Church of Scotland agreed that a new translation of the Bible in contemporary English should be undertaken, avoiding archiac words and forms of expression. The word “thou” would be employed only for prayer.
