BIG LAMB ENTRY

MORRINSVILLE SALE Lambs were, the chief entry in the fat sheep section of the weekly stock sale at Morrinsville on Friday. Competition was keen and recent firm rates were fully maintained. Store lambs realised late quotations. Values were easier for a small entry of fioner and store cows. Competition was strong for the full yarding o! dairy cows, including two advertised herds. One herd averaged tile very satisfactory figure of £l3 4s 4d over all Dairy heifers were firm on late rates. Prices: Sheep.—Extra prime woolly hoggets, to 435; prime woolly hoggets. 34s fid to 3fis; extra heavy prime lambs. 38s fid to 40s; prime lambs, 31s to 33s 3d; medium weight lambs. 27s fid to 295; light lambs, 24s fid ’o 265; well grown b.f. lambs, 22 sfiri to 23s fid: medium w.f. lambs, 18s to 20s; smaller, lfis to 17s fid Cattle.—Boner cows, £5 10s to £7; store cows, £3 »5s to £5: well-grown Jersey heifer calves, to £(> 4s; small and mixed coloured. £4 to £5. Dairy Gallic.—Top quality heifers. £l3 to £l3 10s: medium. £lO to £ll 10•; late calvers. £(i to £8; ton quality young Jersey cows. £1(1 to £l9: good quality young Jersey cows, £l3 to £ls: medium, £lO to £l2; kite calvers, £8 to £9.
