CLUB’S BAN ON STARTING
(P.A.) CHRISTCHURCH. June a. A letter from the Forbury Park Trotting Club read at a meeting of the Board ol the New Zealand Trotting Association last night gave reasons why the club had not allowed the horse Premier Royal to start at the meeting last month. . , B. C. Lee, of Timaru, the owner, had told the committee that, subject to confirmation bv the Trotting Association, lie hud sold Premier Royal to A. W.vberg, manager ol his hotel. He (Lee) had not accepted for the lior.se. This had been done by the trainer, \V. R. Butt. The action of the club was endorsed. A letter from Lee giving his reasons for selling Premier Royal said that publicity in the newspapers and innuendoes in circulation had materially affected his. business. He would have no interest in the horse if the Trotting Association confirmed the transfer.
