MAIL FOR THE NAVY
TRANSIT TIME REDUCED ( P.A.) WELLINGTON, June 4. A scheme has been instituted whereby (he transit times for mail for naval personnel serving overseas will he considerably reduced. In future a mil for naval men overseas other than in His Majesty’s New Zealand ships or establishments should he addressed:
(a) Where the name of the ship is known, to. say. 11. S. Brown, Able Seaman, N.Z. 7.178. 11.M.5. (name of ship), British Fleet Mail. If the name of the ship is known this address should be used for mail for all naval officers and ratings, including members of the Royal Navy and Royal Australian Navy. (b) Where the name of the ship is not known, to. say, H. S. Brown, Able Seaman. N.Z. 7578. care High Commissioner for New Zealand. 415 The Strand, London, W.C.2. Parcel mail should be addressed similarly, care of the New Zealand War Services’ Association, 415 The Strand. London, W.C.2. Mails for New Zealand ships or establishments should, unless the correspondents are informed otherwise, be addressed either care of the G.P.0., Auckland, or care the G.P.0., Wellington.
