DEATH AT 98 YEARS

MRS. MARY BARBARA The death of Mrs. Mary Barbara occurred in Te Araroa this- morning at the great age of 98 years. Coming to New Zealand 43 years ago, Mrs. Barbara and her husband, the late Mr. Nicholas Barbara, and family arrived at Dunedin, and following the death of her husband, who was a buyer for the Invercargill firm of Messrs Kingsland and Anderson, she went to live with her daughter in Te Araroa in 1913, residing there eve: since.

Of a family of five, four are surviving. as follows: Mrs. R. Abraham, and Mr. J. N. Barbara, Te Araroa, Mr George Barbara, Dunedin, Mrs. G. Roghell, Christchurch. There are also many grand-children and several great grand-children. The interment will take place in Te Araroa on Thursday.
