OBITUARY

MR. ALEXANDER MCINTOSH ' COLLAPSE AT TOLAGA The death of Mr. Alexander Mcrnfosh occurred following a sudden collapse in Tolaga Bay this morning, and removes a well-known Matawhero farmer and racehorse owfier and breeder. Mr. Mclntosh hacl left his home early this morning for Tolaga Bay. and collapsed shortly after he rerched there. A son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Lachlan Mclntosh, early Gisborne settlers, Mr. Mclntosh was horn in Gisborne, and lived in the district all his life, acquiring important farming interests and establishing himself as a well-known owner and breeder of racehorses. Among his horses were Drominent performers such as White Fang and Sporting Blood, and he was the breeder tof others which gained distinction.

Mr. Mclntosh is survived by his wife, formerly Miss Muriel Church, one son and three daughters to mourn their loss. The family comprises Mr. Lachlan Mclntosh ,qnd the Misses Molly, Mardre and Fiona Mclntosh, all of Gisborne. Three sistefs and five brothers also survive him, as follows: Mrs. K. Lindsay, Hawke’s Bay, Mrs J. Montecino, Gisborne, Mrs. J. Brooking, Makaraka, Messrs. James, George, Thomas and Frederick Mclntosh, Gisborne, and Mr. Kenneth Mclntosh, Tolaga Bay.
