U.S. NAVY OF 1943
GREATEST IN HISTORY (11 a.m.) NEW YORK, Oct. 19. The United States in 1943 will turn out, a greater navy than any nation ever possessed, the Secretary of the Navy, Colonel F. Knox, told an audience at Manchester, New Hampshire. He added: “That is true both as to the number and the balance and types of ships. Its only equal would be the combined United States and British navies at the beginning of the war."
