OBITUARY

Advice has been received in Gisborne , of the death of Mr. Arthur Francis Humphries Sutherland, chief executive of the Self Help Co-op. Ltd., and because of this all Self Help shops thr"ughbut 1 the Dominion closed their doors for one hour to-day. The late Mr. Sutherland was the son of Mr. B. Sutherland, founder of the Self Help Co-op. Ltd., and was a member of the armed forces, which he joined several months ago. The family founded the Sutherland Self Help Trust, a fund which, is,to accumulate to be available in perpetuity for the rfelief of worthy gases requiring assistance.
