TE KARAKA NEWS
There was a happy gathering in the Wniliohu Theatre when over 200 children attended the Te ICnraka District High School’s annual fancy dress ball. Much care and thought had been spent on the many original and fancy costumes worn. An appreciative audience of parents and friends followed with keen attention the performance of organised dances in which the children had been trained by their teachers, and the ease with which the programme was carried out was a tribute to the work of the headmaster, Mr. O. E. Johnston, and his staff. Members of the Bchooi committee assisted with the function, and supper arrangements were in charge of a committee of ladies headed by Mrs. R. Stephenson. Music for dancing was contributed by Miss L. Ruru, piano, and Mr. R. F. Hutchinson, saxophone. After 11 p.m. the function continued with a dance for adults, Mr. J. Bnyly acting ns M.C.
