FORCED LABOUR

FRENCH FOR GERMANY DRAFTS CAUSE STRIKE LUXEMBURGERS SHOT (11.30 a.m.) LONDON, Oct 15. A list of 2990 skilled workers marked for compulsory deportation to Germany is being posted at Lyons today. Ten only had volunteered. When 3000 were demanded many workers came out on strike and the police had to be reinforced. The Vichy radio says that a military tribunal at Lyons sentenced nine people to terms of imprisonment, ranging from one year to life, for endangering the security of the State. The Luxemburg Government in London stated that the Germans shot 25 Dersons, including postmasters, teachers, professors, town clerks and workers, when Luxemburgers proclaimed a general strike as a protest against the annexation of the Duchy.
