POLISH REFUGEES

UGANDA SETTLEMENT 1500 ALREADY ARRIVED (British Official WiroießS.) RUGBY, Oct. 15. A scheme for the temporary settlement of Polish refugees has now been arraneed. In accordance with an agreement between the British and Soviet Governments 10,000 Polish noncombatants who took refuge in Siberia in 1539 will be permitted to reside in Uganda for the duration of the war. Fifteen hundred have alleadv arrived. A contingent of the Polish Women’s Auxiliary Service has arrived in Scotland from Russia and will form the nucleus of a Polish A.T.S. in Britain.
