Service Appeals

Sir,—lt is distressing to see the large percentage of appeals coming forward throughout the Dominion from men who in many instances can wpll be spared frpm businesses and farms. This war cannot be won py talk ana stick-at-homes, and it is scandalous to see these single and married- appellants still unhampered to carry on their homely lives and accumulate capital whilst those overseas and in training receive the paltpy few shillings per day for offering their life s blood. I suggest that every i appeal lodged should be accompanied by, a deposit of at least £10; should the appellant be sent into camp this sum to be refunded, but on- the contrary the deposit should go to a rehabilitation fund. Let those who ape eligible and lit pay dearly for their liome comforts 'should they wish to home without just cause. VY.t - , ’
