TAXI STAND AND ’FH.QNE WRONGFUL USE ALLEGED A charge of using a stand and another of using '"a telephone mot specified in his license were brought by the Gisborne borough Council before Mr. E. L. Walton, S.M., in the Gisbprne- Magistrate’s Court, to-day against - Harold (Drummond-,' taxi ’ proprietor, but after hearing evidence for the ’ council both informa.tiGris"%ere dismissed. ." •<• -

Evidence was given by Thomas George Nowell, borbugh traffic inspect'or, and Henry Garjdner; chairman of the Gisborne taxi eabi control committee. 1 >
His Worship rilled that it was not proved that the car was on the Brignt street stand rind* that ho offence'y/as disclosed in Regard> to the‘ telephone’. He added-that-the receipt of -a' messagewas' riot proof of using'The 'telephone. , ■’ ••'* 1 ‘'' '' r v-'-r Mr. L. T.
