TOKOMARU BAY NEWS

Leading Aircraftman M. Aitken was a recent visitor to Tokomaru Bay, where he was the guest of Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Britton. —Mrs. J. S. Nugent, Gisborne, was tho guest of Miss Hills at the week-end for the Guide and Brownie party.—Mrs. M. Holah is visiting Gisborne and is the guest of Mrs. L. Steed.—Mrs. M. Corbett, Hautanoa, was a week-end visitor to Gisborne, being the guest of her daughter, Mrs. J. Watts. —Mr. and Mrs. Britton were visitors to Gisborne at the week-end. On Saturday afternoon in the Women s Auxiliary room, Tokomaru Bay, the local Girl Guides and Brownies held their birthday party given by the Guide committee and parents of Guides and Brownies. A very happy time was spent in the playing oi organised games and singing popular choruses. A delicious afternoon tea was served, pride of place being given to a decorated cake, the gift of Mrs. M. Holah. The cake was cut by the commissioner, Mrs. J. S Nugent, Gisborne, who had paid a special visit for the occasion. Mrs. J. L. Grant, on behalf of the committee, welcomed Mrs. Nugent, and also thanked Miss Hills for the time and energy she put into the Guide movement.
