The Flying Fortress in which Lieut,General Brett, commander of the Allied air forces in Australia, returned to America, broke all records in a trans-Pacific flight of 36 hours 10 minutes. ■ The plane took an active part in the Philippines campaign. Lieut.-General Brett, interviewed, said: “Our pilots are probably the best in the world. They have covered themselves with glory in action. , .1 have seen them nut to the test under the most terrible conditions and they came through every time with flying colours. Our flyers have shown amazing willingness to risk their lives under the most severe conditions.”
