’FRISCO RADIO STATION BROADCASTS TO TROOPS (11 a.m.) SAN FRANCISCO, Aug. 31. The short-wave station KGEI has announced that it will ignore an order by Mr. James Petrillo, president of the American Federation of Musicians, to cease playing recordings for rebroadcast to servicemen in the Pacific areas. A Washington message last week stated that Senator Clark demanded a Senate investigation of Mr. James Petrillo’s order forbidding members of the American Federation of Musicians tc play for recordings and transcriptions. He said that Mr. Petrillo had adopted gangster tactics. Senator Clark added that the union leader’s ultimatum, which was issued on June 25, would deprive millions of radio listeners from hearing musical records, jeopardise national morale and imperil the existence of 100 small radio stations which were unable to afford station orchestras. „
