Ma\mgataniwha station, .Wairoa, which he owned at the time of his death. During the Great War .he saw service in Egypt with the Eighth. Reinforcements, and .on returning to New Zealand he commanded .the Wellington East Coast Mounted Rifles. Lieuten-ant-Colonel. Armstrong leaves a widow, one son. R. A.. Armstrong, R.NrZ.A.F:," and two daughters, Mrs. Humphrey Boyly, • Nuhaka. and Miss Judith Armstrong, Dannevirke.
