Opinioh is doubtful regarding this possibility, but will not be surprised if the closer co-operation in Allied military strategy is soon paralleled throughout the Empire by trade and finance consultations. The better news from Russia and the Solomons has given the markets a freshi opportunity to demonstrate the underlying strength. Gilt-edged securities are strong, and New Zealand' 4J and 3 per cents are among the favoured bonds.
