FOOD PRODUCTION
DOMINION CAMPAIGN COUNTRY WOMEN’S AIM (P.A.) WELLINGTON, this day. A crusade for victory, organised by the national co-ordinating committee of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union and the Women Institutes of New Zealand, has been started with the object of having all New Zealand’s food requirements grown within the Dominion and the line of supply to Great Britain and the Allied forces kept up and the first step is to relieve the shortage of shipping space by growing more potatoes and other vegetables and increasing egg production. The crusade seeks the co-operation of city, town ancl country and the united arid consolidated effort of all women. The Pahiatua branch of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union, under Mrs. Cornelius Walker, originated the scheme. Other societies and irdividuals are to be invited to work with the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union branches.
