42 VICHY GENERALS (Reed. Jan. 12, 9 a.m.) LONDON, Jan. 11. According to the Vichy correspondent of the Associated Press, Admiral Darlan has placed 42 generals on the retired list. More retirements can be expected because Admiral Darlan is recasting the army administration from top to bottom before the new War Minister is appointed to succeed General Huntziger. The names, of those retired are not disclosed, but they are described as members of the “old army group.”
