MEDICINE BOTTLES

WELLINGTON SHORTAGE .Because the Auckland factory which makes medicine bottles is busy on other classes of work, certain small bottles are in short supply, according to information given by Wellington chemists. “We get the preference after beer bottles,” said the' general manager of one large firm. “We haven’t had much trouble so far, except for one or two sizes, and we have been able to imnort from Australia the sizes which the Auckland factory is no!, able to turn out at the moment. One of these is the small poison bottle made of the same amber glass as is used in beer bottles.” There was a shortage of lfioz. bottles and two of the smaller sizes, said a chemist. Glass jars were also in short supply, but it was hoped that, fresh stocks would be obtainable early in the year. Because of the difficulties in getting certain sizes, secondhand bottle dealers were doing a brisk trade.
