NAZI BRUTALITY
TOUR OF POLAND TERROR OF 1914 AGAIN CHURCH BECOMES GAOL DAILY EXECUTIONS PRIEST A VICTIM (Klrc. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Reed. Dec. 30, 9 a.m.) LONDON, Dec. 29. A special correspondent of The Times in the Polish town of Kaliscz, which the German Army destroyed in 1914 because the population refused to submit to German rule, says the town is again a scene of German brutality. The largest church has been transformed into a prison. The Gestapo have decreed that Poles and Jews may receive only half of the food rations to which Germans are entitled. Executions are a daily occurrence. A priest and five landowners were executed in the market place on a market day. The only charge against them was that they were in possession of arms, which were proved to be sporting rifles.
