A Prayer For Peace

In a letter to a Gisborne friend, the Rev. L. Dawson Thomas, whose death is reported on page 14, recently quoted a prayer which he had composed for use each Sunday in the two churches of Hamerton and Win wick which comprised his charge. The text of the prayer was: “O Lord Jesus, Who did say to Thine apostles: Peace I leave unto you; My peace I give unto you. Regard not our sins, but the faith of Thy church; and grant unto her such peace and unity as are in accordance with Thy will.” The invocation might well serve former Gisborne friends of the late Mr. Thomas as a memorial of his work in Holy Trinity parish.
