OBITUARY

MR. FREDERICK FIGG

OLD WAIPAOA RESIDENT

Many friends of Mr. Frederick Figg. Waipaoa. will regret.deeply to learn..of his death, which took place -at the Cook Hospital this morning after a short illness. The deceased entered hospital on Christmas Day. Born in Buckinghamshire,, England, in 1879, Mr. Figg was married at Forest Gate, London,-in 1904, and nine years later came to New Zealand with his family, settling in ’ Poverty ' Bay immediately upon his arrival in the colony. He .followed the occupation of market gardener, and during the pase 12 years had lived at Waipaoa, wherehe was popular and highly-esteemed. He was an active member of the Seventh Day Adventist congregatiqn'in Gisborne.

Mr. Figg is survived by Mrs. Figs and two sons, Mr., F. J. Figg, Waipaoa, and Mr. A. B. Figg, Mangapapa, to whom, as to his four grandchildren, much sympathy will be extended-.
