T.B. TESTS FOR A.I.F.

X-RAY EXAMINATIONS MELBOURNE, Dec. 21. Every soldier of Lhe Second A.I.F. will have X-ray examinations of hit chest before he leaves for service overseas, to ensure that he is free from tuberculosis. ■The Minister for the Army, Mr. G. A. Street, said to-day that the X-ray method was superior to certain other tests, which indicated only that a man had suffered from tuberculosis in the past. By the detection of cases of tuberculosis of the lung which were not discoverable by ordinary medical examination the community would be saved large sums in repatriation pensions and the risk of infection spreading to other soldiers would almost completely disappear,
