Slashed with Razor

An Invercargill man was subjected to a form of assault which was described by Inspector T. Gibson as “fortunately rare in this country, but common among the Sydney gangs.” The man had his face badly slashed by a razor and a warrant was issued for the arrest of the assailant. It is slated that a dispute occurred in premises in Esk street, and a safety razor blade, with a special handle, was used. The man received a cut on the forehead, one on each cheek and another across the chin. The man had to receive medical attention and the wounds had to be stitched. A man has been arrested at Oamaru in connection with the offence.
