SNAKE IN WELL

FARMER FALLS IN, TOO SYDNEY, Dec. 10. Mr. E. Magrin, a dairy farmer, fell 20ft. down a well to-day, into sft. of water in which a black snake was swimming. Mr. Magrin was lifting buckets of water from the well, when he saw the snake swimming below. He was trying to kill it by hitting it with the bucket against the wall of the well, when the plank on which he was standing broke and he fell to the bottom. He injured a shoulder and his head, and spent an unhappy few minutes before he was able to climb a pole which reached from the top to the bottom of the vjpll, and escape. ■A doctor treated him for his injuries.. , v; , ..
