WAERENGA’HIKA NEWS
(Herald Correspondent.) The Waerenga-a-hikn Tennis Club held a combined mixed doubles tournament on Boxing Day. There was a large attendance, but owing to the inclemency of the weather play was abandoned. It was decided to hold a similar tournament on Saturday. t Mr. R. Nickerson, who had been home on final leave, visited relatives in Hie Auckland district before returning to camp.—Miss A. Barrow lias left to visit. Christchurch and Wellington. —Messrs. W. Lister, R. Richardson, E. Gray and E. Topp, who were on final leave, visited relatives and friends on the district.-—Mr. and Mrs. F, A. Barrow, the former being on final leave, returned this week from a visit to Christchurch. Miss N. Rogers lias returned from an extended visit to Auckland.—Mr. R. J’. Fenton, Mercer, is visiting the district. Mr. and Mrs. R. Scott and Miss Scott. Rotorua, are spending a holiday in the Waerenga-a-hika district.—Mr. W. Fenton, of Auckland and formerly of this district, lips entered the Royal Air Force training school at Wcraroa.
