1938-39 PAY-OUT 16.7 d INCREASE IN SUPPLIERS ANNUAL REPORT ISSUED (Herald Corivsiiomlunl.) The annual report and balance sheet issued by the Nuhaka CoOperative Dairy Company, Limited, for the 1938-39 season shows that the number of suppliers increased from 27 to 34, but the output declined from 300,4031 b to 277,0811 b. Apparently a larger quantity was retained for local consumption than previously, for exports totalled 1188 crates, compared with 1502 crates the previous season. There was an. Increase in the total payments to suppliers, the average for the past season being 16.7 d, compared with 15.48 d in 1937-38. Total charges, including depreciation and repairs, increased from 4.7995 d per lb to 5.2 lOd.
An improvement was recorded in the quality, the average grading points 'or exports being 91.822. compared with 91.5(12 the previous season. Of the milk supplied lo the factory, 98.824 per cent was first grade and 1.378 per cent second grade, compared with 97.883 per cent and 2.117 per cent respectively during 193738
