TWO HOURS’ PLAY
TENNIS TOURNAMENT FURTHER INTERRUPTION RAIN FLOODS COURTS Because the courts remained soft from yesterday’s downpour, a late start was made in the Poverty Bay and East Coast Lawn Tennis Association’s annual championship and handicap tournament in Gisborne to-day, and then only one set of courts, those at Poho-o-Rawiri, was used, those at Kaiti being considered too soft for play this morning. The games were further interrupted shortly after.noon by heavy rain, which caused the abandonment of play for the day, and only a little more than two hours’ play was possible on the Poho-o-Rawiri green.
