LOSS OF 36 LIVES CREWS OF TWO VESSELS (Reed. Dec. 27, 2.50 p.m.) BERGEN, Dec. 26. It is revealed that the Carl Henckel, which picked up the survivors of the Mars on December 21, was sunk by a mine shortly afterwards and a total of 36 members of the crews from the two vessels were drowned.
