SYDNEY DISTURBANCE COMMUNISTS ATTACKED SOLDIERS ON LEAVE FUSILLADE OF TOMATOES (Elec. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Reed. Dec. 26, 9 a.m.) SYDNEY. Dec. 25. Lively scenes with the danger o 4 ' a serious riot were witnessed in the Sydney Domain on Sunday, when about 50 soldiers on leave raided the Communist platform, tore down the Red Flag, ripped it to pieces and burned it within the view of 2000 cheering and hooting spectators. The police, heavily reinforced, drew their batons and scattered the disturbers. Some of those who exchanged blows were trampled underfoot. The uniforms of three constables were slashed with razor blades, v- Three arrests were made.
A youthful Communist orator later became the target for a fusillade of tomatoes, most of which landed on the Sunday suits of those surging round him
