WOOL APPRAISAL
AUCKLAND ADDITION EXTRA DATE T.O-MORROW GISBORNE INQUIRIES Advice lias been received by Auckland' woolbrokers that an appraisement in addition to the one set down for January 22 will commence tomorrow. It is understood that Gisborne brokers also desired a December date, but no information is to hand of any application in this respect having .succeeded, and the next valuation for Gisborne and the two Coast centres will commence on January 17. The decision to hold an additional appraisement in Auckland this week was made as a result of urgent reconsideration of tiie shipping position being necessary, and in order to take advantage of available space the additional appraisement has been arranged
Despite indifferent weather a short time ago, wool has been arriving freely in Auckland stores during the past few weeks. Though only a short period lias elapsed since the completion of the initial appraisement at the end of November, it is expected that nearly 20,000 bales will be available. In the first appraisement approximately 23,500. bales were valued for which payment of about. £3(10,000 was made on December 18.
At the first Gisborne appraisement nearly 10:000 bales were valued in Gisborne and on the Coast, and the catalogue for the second appraisement on January 17 .and succeeding few days closed a short time ago.
