CUP DAY TUESDAY THE CARDINAL FANCIED ORELIO IN RAILWAY WIN-AND-PLACE BETTING By “Trenton” Although there will be race meetings in a number of centres on Tuesday next, the Auckland Racing Club's meeting at Ellerslie is almost sure to attract most attention. The Auckland Cup and Railway Handicap are the two chief events to be decided, and they have been fully discussed previously. The win-and-.placc system, of betting will be in operation, and the following horses are expected to figure prominently in the finishes of their various engagements:— Queen’s Plate: Great Swoop (if started), Native Chief Proud Fox. Grafton Hurdles: Clarion Call, Ureklaw, Ilopalong. Great Northern Foal Slakes: Cheddington, Doria, Lou Rosa. Auckland Cup: The Cardinal, Dictate, Catalogue.
