TROOPS ON LEAVE
ARRIVAL OVERNIGHT PARTY FROM BURNHAM OTHERS EN ROUTE TO-DAY Released from camp earlier than the majority of Second Echelon men, owing to the longer distance they had to travel, a party of six noncommissioned officers from Burnham camp, Christchurch, reached Gisborne overnight to spend their special Christmas leave with their relatives and friends.
Arrangements have been made by j the Duco Service for a 'special car to meet the railwaycar at Wairoa to-| night, and to convey to Gisborne 2li men- of the Second Echelon released: on Christmas leave from Trentham.] This party will include Maori officers! and non-commissioned officers hailing from the East Coast, who will pro-; ceed to their homes to-morrow.
