PRICE OF PETROL ADVANCE OF HALFPENNY (Per Press Association.") WELLINGTON, this day. As from this morning, motor spirit throughout New Zealand will cost an ejctra halfpenny a gallon, i This announcement was made last night by the representative of the oil companies. It was stated that full details of the companies’ increased costs had been submitted to the Department of Industries and Commerce, who had approved of the increase. The requisite amending regulations were gazetted last night and take effect immediately. The increase is stated to be entirely the result of higher f,o.b. costs, freight and war-risk insurance. The Wellington retail price for super grade petrol will now be 2s 5Jd a gallon and for. standard grade 2s 4Jd.
