MAORI DESIGNS
Christmas gifts of Maori design are becoming increasingly popular. Hitherto such goods have been pretty well restricted to imitation Maori tikis and eardrops, cut in Germany, and little brown-skinned dolls, but this year there is a variety of moderatelypriced goods in native designs. Among these are carved wooden ashtrays, carved Maori gods, with paua shell eyes, little carved Maori houses, and Christmas cards, carrying poi-poi balls of flax or dried grass.
