FAREWELL TO TROOPS

(Herald Correspondent.) Members of the First Echelon of hoops to leave from the Motu district will be accorded a public farewell in the Motu Hall on Saturday night. The Matawai-Motu branch of the Returned Soldiers’ Association has taken "he initiative in making .the arrangements and a record attendance is anticipated. The mert concerned are Messrs T. Twislcton, H. Eurburough, J'. Quinn, R. James and T. Lynch.

Mr. and Mrs. A. O. K. Sim have left Motuhora on a holiday visit to Rotorua.—Mr. ,T. Doole is spending the school holidays in Hawke’s Bay.— Mr. T. Twisleioi arrived home on Sunday on final leave from Burnham, Christchurch. Mr. Twisletan is in the Machine Gun Section, 27th Battalion.
