Speaking at the annual prizegiving .ceremony of the Otago Boys' High School, the chairman of the Beard of Governors, Mr. W. R. Brugh, referred to the fact that so far, no fewer than 208 ex-pupils of the school had enlisted for active service. "This impels me to say,” 'he observed, "that some more equitable system of enlistment should be found ir this ‘air little country of ours. We don't want to go forward as .secondrate, we want to go forward as firstrate. ami at present it looks as if it r, all die first-rate men who are offering their services for our country and tiie Empire.”
