GERMAN MASONS

EXCLUSION PROPOSAL REJECTED IN BRITAIN LONDON. Dec. 7. ■ A lively debate occurred among members of the United Grand Lodge of Freemasons on the following proposals:— 1. “In order that the peace and harmony of the craft should not be disturbed, brethren of enemy nationality .should abstain from attending any Masonic functions in wartime. 2. “The master of a lodge may request a Mason ol’ enemy birth to abstain from attending if he considers that his presence will create discord”

Speakers deplored that the board of general purposes should have subn itted these proposals. They said that the proposals were calculated serious to damage Masonry, which v as the one groat organisation standing for world unity. The Earl of Harewood, who presided. announced chat the proposals had been referred back to the board practically unanimously.
